New Books arrived!





Wow, Its been quite a year......

Sometimes time flies by so quick, its a lovely surprise when samples of books you have worked on turn up.
A lovely Christmas present arrived for me yesterday.
This set of lift the flap books that I illustrated for Make Believe Ideas.
I'm very excited that I can give a set to my niece on her first Christmas.

    I would like to ask for your support with our very worthy cause helping the remote and isolated schools in Fiji.

    We are assisting 15 recipient schools with urgently needed donated books for their small libraries.

    Are you able to please donate one book towards the libraries we will be creating for the 15 Fijian Recipient Schools during March 2013?

    We feel it is important to help the school children of Fiji to improve their literacy and numeracy skills, especially in English, Reading and Writing.

    This will essentially help the students to pursue their higher education and employment opportunities in the future.

    Our ultimate goals are to:

    > Elevate the quality literacy programs in Fiji's Schools.
    > Impart a love of reading for all students whether they are in kindergarten, primary or high school.
    > Create quality small libraries for the neediest schools to encourage reading at home.
    > Provide over 300 cartons of second-hand and new donated books as a gift from Australia and New Zealand in March 2013,

    Corrine and I have personally experienced the need for donated books in Fiji.

    We are commitment to assist those schools who have not received any new donated books for over 20 years, this is not an exaggeration just simply the truth.

    Our dedicated team consists of two mothers, one is Corrine Angus from New Zealand and myself from Sydney Australia.

    Corrine has donated books to over 23 Fiji Schools since 2010 and has provide them with the gift of over 20,000 books from New Zealand.

    Corrine and I decided to join forces to make a positive impact with providing 15 Recipient Schools with quality donated books from Australia and New Zealand.

    In March 2013, we will be assisted by Annie Madden from the Community Support Network, Fiji (NGO).

    Please Note:
    You may wish to view the 22 Recommendations in relation to my project helping the school children of Viwa Island, Fiji in August this year.
    The two remote island schools received gifts of donated books, educational supplies and second-hand clothing (400 kilos in total).
