Hootiful Owls!

Last year the lovely people at Make Believe Ideas asked if I could produce a whole load of owl characters for them.
I love working on owls and birds anyway, so this was a lovely project for me.
The result is this lovely owl stationery box.
It includes a notepad, stickers (love these!), a stamper, postcards etc. A perfect gift!!
I was lucky enough to receive some samples in the post.
As soon as I know where these can be purchased, I will update this.
Anyway, I think they have done a 'Hootiful' job!!

Merry Christmas!

Well I have finally managed to send off the family Xmas card to get printed. At this rate they won't turn up until the last posting date has gone.
Never mind. It has been a whirlwind year work wise. I never thought this time last year that I would have so much work coming my way. And for that I am very grateful. xx

Illustration Friday - Asleep

Illustration Friday- Asleep

This is actually a sneak peek of a project I have been working on.
I thought it was very suitable for this weeks topic!

I've been playing around with Hope's party invites and Thank you cards. These are my favourite things to design. Hope is a fairly relaxed Art Director.
Our inspiration was 'growing things', as this is her current topic at school.

The big day is coming....

So, the big day is inspiring me to do all things London.
We visited just a few weeks ago and I love it. I originaly come from Hertfordshire which is only 20 miles away, it holds lots of special memories for me.....
So I embarked upon a London Bus filled with fun characters.
The idea was for it to be all animals, but my daughters had other plans....they are on the bus!
After completing it, My eldest, Elle, decided to write a poem about it, which I have to share with you...

"There was a bus, that was a must,
to all the people all around.
It took a tour across Buttonland,
The beaches full of sea and sand.
The passengers on it were very fun,
under the big bright smiling sun.

There was a lion called Lenny,
and a penguin called Penny,
and Belinda Bunny , who was very funny,

 Daisy the driver Dog,
who drove through sun and fog.
and Ollie the Owl
who hated cows.

Benny the bird who was quite a nerd,
and Beverly bird who was quite absurd!
And there was Joan Giraffe,
(she was a real laugh)

There were 3 children aboard the bus, that was a must.
Their names were Hope, Alex and Elle,
and they were all kind, as you can tell...

The bus was red, big and bright,
and was always a magical brilliant sight!

By Elle Fennell age 9

I thought that was ace!
anyway, on a London note, here is my canvas available from www.happyspaces.co.uk

I found another one of my cards in M&S this week, for boys aged between 8-11.
I did this about a year ago, and already , I can see how my work is changing....

Some gentle encouragement for Hope!

Hope is our little girl, who is really not impressed with going to school at the moment.
We created the cucumber 'Hope' to encourage her to eat it in her pack lunch.
I worked on this Pirate image for her, as her year are having a school trip tomorrow dressed as pirates. I have always wanted to do a pirate picture, so it's been a good excuse.
